Her blogs are about the daily lives of a ranch wife and mother. The Pioneer Woman has been awarded with the Weblog of the Year awards in 2010 and 2009 in the Annual Weblog Awards. The Pioneer Woman was raised in the town of Bartlesville, OK. In college she studied gerontology and journalism. In 2006 she started her online blog pioneerwoman.typepad.com and later changed the name to Confessions of a Pioneer Woman and finally to The Pioneer Woman. Confessions of a Pioneer Woman has been among the most popular parts of her site. The blog was widely acknowledged by various publications who appreciated her writing style and ideas as well as some excellent photographs. They also have attractive food recipes that are visually appealing. The Pioneer Woman is her television program, broadcast by The Food Network. The majority of her books contain recipes. The author recently made it public that her book from Black Heels to Tractor Wheels is being turned into a feature film by Columbia Pictures.
