Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her professional title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 following the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued posting her music online as well as her own single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. In the following season, the music was played all over Dreamville. The 8th of December was the day she revealed that she had signed to Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. In October 21, 2016, she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and performed as an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. And Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was then followed by a short video in September. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole on the Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019 the music video for the track was launched. The track has garnered more than 3 million YouTube views within a week. As a support act she performed in concert with 6LACK in December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
